Use a licensed plumber
All plumbing work should be
performed by a licensed and
competent plumbing professional.
This is required if you will be
requesting a compliance certificate
from the Plumber for whom
the work was done by.
You should always discuss what is
included in the price and or
estimate that is provided for you.
For example, labor, parts and
appliances should be specifically
noted with any warranties.
Only a licensed plumber may issue a compliance certificate. A compliance certificate is the means by which a licensed plumber self-certifies that the plumbing work complies with all legislative requirements.
Licensed plumbers are highly
skilled professionals accredited by
the Professional Plumbing
Associations and Government Regulations. To be a licensed plumber
one must have obtained the required
qualifications, have extensive
experience and hold a prescribed
level of insurance.
Tips on finding a qualified plumber
When you need a plumber, you should consider these facts:
- Always use a Licensed Plumber
- Verify the Plumber's expiry date is current
- For plumbing work which requires a compliance certificate ensure you receive your compliance certificate (you must use a licensed professional)
- Ask about your manufacturer's warranty conditions(many appliance manufacturers require a licensed plumber to install the product. If you do not use a licensed plumber your product warranty and insurance may be void)
